I coached little league baseball for the past 5 years. This is my first season since as a spectator. I am enjoying my ‘retirement’. Now I can just focus on taking the pictures and not having to worry about signs, if the runner is going to get caught stealing, if my pitcher is about to have a meltdown, or what the parents think about my decisions (I never really worried about that last one too much come to think of it).
So what have I learned in my ‘retirement’? I want “bigger” glass and a faster body, something that can handle 6fps or more. Sports is all about speed (or the sports I am interested in anyway), and 2.5 or 3 fps just doesn’t get all the action. A fall on a wakeboard, or a slide into home – these things take place in fractions of a second. It’s all good though, I will get the most I can out of my current setup until the budget says it’s time to upgrade.
Outdoor sports season is coming
Believe it or not, the spring/ summer sports season is right around the corner here in Colorado. If you have a child on a team that is looking to have pictures done, contact me and I’ll add you to my calendar. For a small retainer, I will dedicate an entire game to your team, and get pictures that will make all of the parents beam with pride.
